In an effort to help the roofing industry become familiar with the roofing-related provisions of LEED Version 4® (LEEDv4), the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) has released LEED v4: Roofing-related Provisions. LEED v4 is the latest version of the most recognized sustainable building rating system, the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Green Building Rating System.™
LEED v4: Roofing-related Provisions is intended to provide roofing professionals a broad overview of the roofing-related credits and prerequisites for LEED’s Building Design and Construction and Building Operations and Maintenance rating system categories.
In addition, a listing of typical LEED-related submittals and what roofing-related provisions have changed in LEED v4 versus previous LEED editions also are included.
Launched in November 2013, LEED v4 is considered a significant overhaul of the rating system. It includes a reworking of materials and resources credits to incorporate disclosure of environmental and health impacts. It also addresses the potential toxicity of building product ingredients.
NRCA’s LEED v4 Roofing-related Provisions will be available in November. For more information, visit http://www.nrca.net/store/detail/leed-v4-roofing-related-provisions/1340.
