Dear fellow Alliance and NRCA Members,
I want to remind you the deadline for applications for the 2015-16 Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program is Jan. 31, 2015.
The Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program is open to employees of NRCA contractor and supplier members. Employees and their families who plan to pursue post-secondary education in college and vocational programs are eligible for the merit-based scholarships. Scholarship recipients will receive funding for up to four years of full-time study at any accredited post-secondary institution of the student’s choice.
The purpose of the Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program is to assist individuals seeking to further their education to pursue careers in the roofing or building construction industries.
Each recipient will receive a $5,000 award. Awards are renewable for up to three years of undergraduate study or until a bachelor’s degree is earned provided recipients renew annually and maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Scholarship recipients are selected by an independent evaluating organization and approved by the Alliance’s board of trustees on the basis of academic record; potential to succeed; leadership; participation in school and community activities; honors; work experience; and a statement of educational and career goals and aspirations and an outside appeal. Scholarship recipients will be considered solely based on merit, not need.
Click here for the details and application information or visit the Alliance website at www.roofingindustryalliance.net. Again, the deadline for application submission is Jan. 31, 2015.
Feel free to contact Bennett Judson, the Alliance’s executive director, at email@example.com or (800) 323-9545, ext. 7513 if you have any questions.
