NRCA Executive Vice President Bill Good recently was cited in “Amazon Takes on Role of Middleman for Contractors,” on April 16 in Replacement Contractor magazine.
In March, Amazon announced it was launching Amazon Home Services to help connect shoppers with service providers including plumbers, installers and general contractors. The service will rely on user reviews to help consumers determine which contractor they should hire.
Although roofing and other larger replacement jobs are not currently on the list of services, Good spoke about the growing importance of customer reviews in getting new business.
“Contractors need to pay attention to online reviews,” he said. “Those reviews are really going to start to matter now.”
In the event roofing does become a service offered by Amazon in the future, Good stated NRCA will reach out to Amazon in an attempt to ensure it properly vets roofing contractors.
Homeowners and business owners can locate a NRCA member contractor in their area on NRCA’s consumer website – www.everybodyneedsaroof.com.
