NRCA staff members met Jordan Cupit, one of the winners of the organization’s 2015 National Roofing Week Children’s Art Contest, Feb. 17 at the 2016 International Roofing Expo® (IRE) when he and his parents stopped by NRCA’s booth.
Jordan, the son of Daniel Cupit, owner of NRCA member Professional Roofing and Exteriors, Arvada, Colo., won in the contest’s 7th-8th grade category.
His winning artwork is featured on NRCA’s 2016 National Roofing Week materials and also was on display at NRCA’s booth.
Additionally, Jordan won an iPad and a $100 gift card from Game Stop.
NRCA’s annual Children’s Art Contest is part of National Roofing Week. The contest promotes awareness of the importance of having a roof to grade school-age children, showing them the value of professional roofing contractors in their communities.
The contest is open to children in grades 1-8 who are relatives of NRCA members and their employees. In preparation for a child’s participation, NRCA encourages roofing professionals to talk to children about the importance of roofs, roofing professionals and why their jobs are important. This not only gives children ideas about what to draw, but also educates them about the value of the roofing industry.
Submissions for NRCA’s third annual National Roofing Week Children’s Art Contest are now being accepted. Entries must be received by April 15.
